Hyundai Exter Facelift Released at Rs. 5.80 Lakh
Google News

Hyundai Motor India has officially launched the 2026 Exter facelift, introducing a refreshed version of its popular micro-SUV. Starting from Rs. 5.80 lakh (ex-showroom), the updated model features enhanced interior appointments and a streamlined variant lineup. The launch aims to consolidate Hyundai’s position in the competitive sub-four-metre segment. Buyers can book it online from a starting price of Rs. 11,000.
Key Updates and Technical Specifications
The 2026 Hyundai Exter retains its signature "boxy" silhouette while adopting modern design elements. This is to align with the brand's evolving global design language. The most notable changes are concentrated on the fascia, which now includes a revised grille and updated LED DRL patterns. The vehicle continues to be powered by the 1.2-litre Kappa petrol engine, available with a five-speed MT and AMT.
Significant highlights of the new model include:
- Pricing Structure: The range starts at Rs. 5.80 lakh for the base ‘EX’ trim. This extends up to Rs. 10.45 lakh for the top-spec ‘SX(O) Connect’ variant.
- Powertrain Options: The 1.2-litre naturally aspirated engine delivers 82bhp and 113Nm of torque. Hyundai also continues to offer a factory-fitted CNG kit in select mid-range trims.
- Interior Refinements: The cabin gains a new dual-tone theme, updated seat upholstery, and an improved 8-inch infotainment system. It is compatible with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.
- Safety Suite: Six airbags remain standard across all variants, supplemented by Electronic Stability Control (ESC), Hill Start Assist and a dual-camera dashcam.
- New Colour Palette: The facelift introduces two new exterior shades: Golden Bronze and Titanium Black Matte, alongside existing monotone and dual-tone options.
The 2026 Hyundai Exter facelift represents a strategic mid-cycle refresh rather than a mechanical overhaul. By maintaining a sub-Rs. 6 lakh starting price, Hyundai effectively counters rivals like the Tata Punch and Citroen C3. While the mechanical workings remain unchanged, the more premium features and safety tech ensures the Exter stays relevant. Expect the model to maintain steady volume growth as Hyundai leverages its extensive service network across India.
