Gurugram | May 01, 2026: Hyundai Motor India Limited (HMIL) has commenced the new financial year on a high note. It recorded its highest-ever domestic sales for the month of April since its inception, with 51,902 units. The company reported significant momentum driven by recent product launches and a strong demand for its SUV lineup.

Record-Breaking Domestic Performance in April

Hyundai's domestic passenger vehicle sales reached 51,902 units in April 2026, marking a robust 17% growth. This comes with the comparison to the 44,374 units sold in April 2025. While domestic demand remained strong, export figures saw a decline of 16.40% year-on-year.

Official Statement on Market Momentum

Mr. Tarun Garg, MD & CEO of HMIL, commented on the results:

"We have opened the new financial year on a strong note, carrying forward the momentum built in recent months into April 2026. With monthly domestic sales of 51,902 units, Hyundai Motor India has achieved its highest-ever April domestic sales, registering a robust 17% year-on-year growth".

He further attributed this success to the positive reception of models like the EXTER, CRETA Summer Edition and the VENUE, which achieved its own record monthly domestic sales of 12,420 units following its 5-Star Bharat NCAP safety rating.

Hyundai’s record-breaking April performance highlights the brand's strengthening grip on the Indian domestic market. Despite a slight month-on-month cooling and a dip in exports, the double-digit year-on-year domestic growth and the success of its diverse SUV portfolio position the company for a competitive financial year ahead.
