Genesis GV90 Gets 123.5kWh Battery and 657bhp
The GV90 uses a new eMP electric platform developed for Hyundai Motor Group’s flagship EVs. It measures 5,285mm long, 2,030mm wide and has a 3,245mm wheelbase.
The SUV uses two electric motors. The front motor produces 240kW and 350Nm, while the rear motor makes 250kW and 450Nm. Combined, they produce 490kW or 657bhp and 800Nm.
The GV90 also gets electronic limited-slip differentials on both axles, multi-chamber air suspension, electronically controlled dampers and rear-wheel steering.
Its 123.5kWh battery is the largest battery used in a Hyundai Motor Group EV so far. Genesis estimates around 500km of range for the seven-seat version based on internal testing. The SUV supports 350kW DC fast charging, allowing a 10–80% charge in around 22 minutes.
GV90 Neolun Gets Coach Doors
The GV90 Neolun brings several concept-inspired features to the production SUV. Its main highlight is the Neolun Arch Gate. The Neolun uses front- and rear-hinged coach doors that open in opposite directions. Genesis says this creates a wider entry area without a conventional fixed B-pillar.
The company claims it is the world’s first independently opening and closing hidden B-pillar coach-door arrangement. However, the design still requires strong body support. Genesis has added high-strength dual steel beams inside the doors and extra reinforcement around the body. The front seats can rotate by up to 180 degrees when the SUV is stationary, allowing front occupants to face rear passengers.
Genesis GV90 Cabin Gets OLED Display
The GV90 gets a 23.6-inch OLED Cinematic Display that combines the instrument cluster and infotainment system. When the vehicle is parked, the screen can rise by 90mm and become a 24.6-inch entertainment display.

Genesis also uses acoustic glazing and additional sound insulation. Some glass is more than 5mm thick to improve cabin isolation.
Neolun Executive Suite Gets Four Seats
The Neolun Executive Suite gets a four-seat layout aimed at chauffeur-driven buyers. Its rear cabin includes real wood veneer flooring, radiant heating, a refrigerator, integrated tables and semi-aniline leather upholstery.
The radiant heating takes inspiration from traditional Korean ondol underfloor heating. A partition between the passenger area and luggage compartment is also available.
The Smart Vision Roof allows occupants to change the transparency of different roof sections. Genesis will also offer a limited-run Neolun First Edition with additional exterior and interior features.
Genesis GV90 Gets Worlds First Roof Airbag
The GV90 comes with 12 airbags, including the new Roof Airbag. Genesis claims it is the world’s first airbag designed to deploy across the fixed glass roof during a severe rollover.
The main safety features include:
- Roof Airbag: Designed to reduce the chance of occupants hitting the glass roof during a rollover.
- Third-Row Curtain Airbags: Extend protection to third-row passengers.
- Seat-Cushion Airbags: Designed to reduce submarining during a crash.
- Battery Protection: Added protection for the EV battery.
- Thermal-Runaway Mitigation: Technology designed to help manage battery thermal events.
Genesis GV90 India Launch Details
Genesis is expected to enter India in 2027, although the brand has not confirmed its final India model line-up. The GV80 and GV80 Coupe are expected to be more likely candidates for the initial Indian portfolio. There is currently no official confirmation of a GV90 India launch. However, the GV90 provides an early look at the electric, safety and luxury technology Genesis could bring to India in the future.
