FADA Passenger Vehicle Sales Report CY 2025: 4,47,5309 Units Sold

Passenger vehicle (PV) sales in India witnessed healthy growth in calendar year 2025, reaching 4,475,309 units, up 9.70% from 4,079,532 units in CY 2024. The increase was driven by strong rural demand, which grew 12.31%, and consistent urban sales growth of 8.08%.

Maruti Suzuki India LTD
Maruti Suzuki continued to dominate the passenger vehicle segment with 1,786,226 units sold in December 2025, reflecting an 8.80% increase over last year. The brand’s market share slightly declined to 0.82%, impacted by competition in the compact and SUV segments.
Mahindra & Mahindra LTD
In December 2025, Mahindra & Mahindra reported 592,771 units, marking a 20.24% YoY growth and increasing its market share to 9.61%. Strong SUV sales and continued rural demand supported the development.
Tata Motors
Tata Motors sold 567,607 units in Dec 2025 compared to 537,737 units last year, registering a 5.55% YoY growth, although market share fell to 3.78%. Continued adoption of EVs and SUVs supported overall volumes.
Hyundai Motors India LTD
In December 2025, Hyundai sold 559,558 units, almost flat compared to last year and sales declined by -0.29%. Its market share also fell to 9.11%, reflecting intensified competition in premium hatchbacks and SUVs.
Toyota Kirloskar Motor PVT LTD
Toyota reported 320,703 units in December 2025, up 23.07% YoY, with market share increasing to 12.18%. Strong demand for hybrid vehicles and MPVs drove the growth.
KIA India Private LTD
KIA sold 259,043 units, an 8.74% YoY increase, with SUVs like Seltos and Sonet remaining key contributors. Market share was slightly down at 0.88%.
Skoda Auto Volkswagen Group & JSW MG Motor India PVT LTD
The group sold 108,277 units, a 35.55% YoY growth, with market share rising to 23.56%. Meanwhile, MG Motor recorded 65,614 units, up 23.86% YoY, benefiting from strong SUV demand.
Honda Cars India LTD
Honda sold 62,576 units, down 9.49% YoY, with market share declining to 17.49%, indicating lower demand for sedans and compact SUVs.
Renault and Nissan India
Renault sold 36,420 units, reflecting 10.45% YoY degrowth, while Nissan sold 21,875 units compared to 26,225 last year, showing a decrease in sales by 16.59% YoY.
Luxury Vehicle Manufacturers
BMW sold 16,735 units, showing 16.42% growth, and Mercedes-Benz sold 18,026 units in December 2025, while 17,324 units were sold in December 2024, which shows an increase of 4.05%. Luxury PV demand remained stable with modest growth.
Other Manufacturers
BYD India saw significant growth in December 2025, selling 5,402 units (+88.29% YoY), while Force Motors grew 26.21% to 7,627 units. The “Others” category grew 41.04%, highlighting emerging players and new EV entrants.
