Bentley Torcal Announced as the Brand's First Electric SUV

Bentley has officially announced Torcal as the name of its first all-electric production vehicle. The luxury electric SUV will make its global debut in London on September 23, 2026. It will become Bentley's fourth model line after the Bentayga, Continental GT, and Flying Spur.

The Torcal marks Bentley's entry into the fully electric luxury vehicle segment. Expected to be smaller than the Bentayga, it will be sold exclusively with an electric powertrain. The new SUV is designed to combine luxury, performance, and everyday usability.

Bentley Torcal Will Be a Compact Luxury Electric SUV

The Bentley Torcal is expected to be the brand's smallest SUV, measuring around 5 metres in length. The car will be the brand's first production model offered only with an electric powertrain. Unlike the Bentayga, it will not receive petrol or hybrid engine options, marking Bentley's move towards an all-electric future.

The name Torcal is inspired by El Torcal de Antequera, a famous limestone landscape in Spain. It also comes from the Latin word 'torquere', referring to the instant torque delivered by electric vehicles.

Expected Platform, Battery and Driving Range

The Bentley Torcal is expected to share its platform with the upcoming Porsche Cayenne Electric. It is also likely to offer a long driving range and support ultra-fast charging.

Expected specifications:

  • Platform: Volkswagen Group Premium Platform Electric (PPE)
  • Battery Pack: 113 kWh (expected)
  • Electrical Architecture: 800-volt system
  • Charging: Ultra-fast DC charging support
  • Claimed Range: Over 480 km (around 300-350 miles / 483-563 km)
  • Drivetrain: Dual-motor all-wheel drive (expected)
  • Power & Torque: Yet to be officially announced

New Design and Premium Cabin Expected

The Bentley Torcal is expected to feature a fresh exterior design inspired by the EXP 15 concept. It could receive a redesigned front fascia, signature LED lighting, and styling that sets it apart from the Bentayga.

Inside, the luxury SUV is likely to offer a curved touchscreen, premium materials, and handcrafted finishes. Bentley is also expected to retain physical controls for key functions, while more design details will be revealed at the global debut on September 23, 2026.
