Citroen eC3 X Teased Online Ahead of Official Indian Market Launch

Citroen India has released the first official teaser for the eC3 X, signaling the imminent launch of its updated electric hatchback. Under the brand's localized product strategy, the electric model will finally receive the comprehensive "X" portfolio upgrade. This was previously rolled out across its petrol-powered stablemates, including the C3, Aircross and Basalt.
Feature Additions and Cabin Enhancements Detailed
The official teaser confirms that the eC3 X will receive distinct cosmetic revisions to align it with Citroen's updated design language. The front fascia gets LED projector headlights, redesigned LED daytime running lights (DRLs) and LED fog lamps. Visual adjustments also extend to a modified front bumper featuring silver skid-plate styling elements and side mirrors with integrated turn indicators. Additionally, new dual-tone alloy wheels are reserved for the top-tier Shine trim.
The most substantial revisions are concentrated inside the cabin to address previous equipment omissions. The updated interior features leatherette upholstery on the seats, a leatherette-wrapped dashboard, and adjustable front headrests. The existing 10.25-inch infotainment touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto remains unchanged. Although, it is now augmented by a new 7-inch digital driver display.
Key equipment upgrades and standard technical specifications include:
- Comfort Conveniences: Integration of automatic climate control, cruise control with a speed limiter, LED ambient lighting, and fast USB Type-C charging ports.
- Safety Technology: The safety suite is upgraded to include six standard airbags, an Electronic Stability Program (ESP), Hill Hold Assist, and a Tyre Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS).
- Optional Equipment: A 360-degree "HALO" camera system is expected to be offered as an optional extra.
- Unchanged Powertrain: The mechanical configuration retains the 29.2 kWh lithium-ion battery pack paired with a front-mounted motor. This system generates 57 PS and 143 Nm of torque, maintaining a certified driving range of 320 km.
The introduction of the eC3 X reflects Citroen’s efforts to improve the value proposition of its sole electric offering in India. This systematically addresses cabin feature gaps and enhances standard safety equipment. Therefore, the French automaker aims to position it against dominant segment rivals like Tiago EV Facelift and the MG Comet EV.
